Project Overview
As the marketing coordinator for Armbruster Moving & Storage, I created a TikTok account and produced 37 original videos to promote the company and provide information on its services. Many of these videos were created from scratch and some were based on CapCut templates that were trending.
In my role in this project, my main goal was to provide video content for the company and introduce a new social media platform. Videos were also edited and used as Instagram Reels.
My Responsibilities
Capturing Content
I invested time in visiting relocation sites to document the movers in action. During these visits, I closely followed their activities, capturing photos and videos of them packing belongings and working together to move heavy items onto trucks. After gathering the content, I organized it into a Google Drive folder. Then, I reviewed the footage to select the best clips for sharing on TikTok.
Video Editing
After organizing the footage I captured, I embarked on the video editing process. I employed different methods depending on the type of content. For TikTok videos, I primarily used the platform’s editing tools, incorporating trending audio to maximize appeal. Alternatively, for content intended for various platforms, I turned to user-friendly editing software like CapCut or Canva for flexibility and quality.
Content Distribution
I collaborated closely with the Business Development Manager, actively engaging in the review process for all posted videos. Following a few months of collaboration, I attained authorization to independently manage the video upload process. I conducted thorough hashtag research for each video. Additionally, I strategically incorporated location tags to maximize outreach within targeted geographic regions.
Tools and Apps Used
Most videos and pictures used in the videos were taken directly from my phone. A few images came from Canva for the less personalized content. If the images or videos came from my phone, they went into a Google Drive folder that can be accessed later on. When editing in Canva I would set it up in the format for Instgram Reels/TikTok and put the video together with transitions and graphics. Music was always added in later on through TikTok.
Many of the videos I put together were edited directly in TikTok. I would use the feature to make the camera quality look better with effects and edit the audio levels to include a balance of music and voice. I looked at TikTok trends to find trending audio and hashtags to use in the videos. Some videos were edited in CapCut if there was a popular template going around at the time.
Results
Increase Brand Awareness
Creating a TikTok account for Armbruster Moving was a carefully considered decision aimed at broadening the audience reach and refreshing the online presence. I focused on featuring more videos and fewer still images to better connect with viewers and breathe new life into the company’s digital identity.
From the start, I focused on building a strong brand identity for our TikTok presence. I used familiar faces in videos where people speak to create a sense of connection. The colors in our videos match our brand’s colors, reinforcing our identity. We also added location tags to target the Brunswick and nearby communities more effectively.
Partnership Promotions
Throughout 2023, I had the privilege of creating TikTok video content for Armbruster Moving & Storage (AM&S), highlighting our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association and our focus on eco-friendly practices. I showcased various videos on how the company recycles boxes and shared helpful spring cleaning tips with our audience, underscoring our commitment to environmental sustainability.
I spearheaded AM&S’s promotion of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s campaign. With targeted content, we surpassed our fundraising goal, collecting over $6500 in donations, showcasing our community’s dedication to this cause.
