The Best Features for a YouTube Channel

I am going to share some of the best features for a YouTube channel that you should consider adding today. While these features are not required, it is highly recommended to add them to your channel to increase traffic and activity on the channel. Let’s get into my list of the best features you can have on your YouTube channel.

Descriptions

One of the best features for a YouTube channel is having a solid description that will be beneficial for the audience to review. A good description contains similar keywords to the title, info about the video, something about your channel or business, links to your other socials and websites, and hashtags that fit the theme of the video.

Descriptions aren’t too difficult to set after you make a boilerplate that contains most of the information in it. You can focus on editing the video description, hashtag, and links from video to video.

Title

The title of a video is the first thing that many people will see when visiting your channel or doing a search. While all videos have a title, it is important to create a title that has the right keywords you want to use. You will want to research a bit about what people might search in order to pick out the right keywords. This is why a good title is one of the best features for a YouTube channel.

Thumbnails

Alongside the title, a thumbnail is something that many viewers will notice prior to seeing a title. This is the image that is shown to go with the video and can be used as a short way to show what the video may be like or give some insight into the video. I recommend Canva as a starting point for these.

If you are working on a channel for a brand, you will want to focus on using a color scheme with both primary and secondary colors in your thumbnails. Doing this will be a great addition to your YouTube channel.

About Page

Another great feature for a YouTube channel is having an about page with a variety of things. I always recommend having links to your social media accounts and website. You should also have some sort of overall description about the channel, yourself, or the business.

Homepage

The homepage of your YouTube channel is what viewers will see when they click on your channel. You will want to include a featured video that explains your channel or is just a popular video that you want to show to anyone that visits the channel. You can also choose to include links to your socials on this page.

A YouTube homepage isn’t complete without a banner and some type of logo for your channel or brand.
